Are bamboo floors easy to maintain?
Yes. Bamboo floors are just as easy to maintain as hardwood floors, only requiring a dust mop for general maintenance. The same finishes are applied to bamboo and hardwood making them very similar as far as maintenance is concerned.

Can I install bamboo flooring in the kitchen?Like hardwood, bamboo flooring is becoming a very popular choice for the kitchen. A floor’s specific warranty will determine whether or not you can, but installing bamboo in the kitchen is becoming a common practice for consumers and builders alike.

Can I install bamboo flooring in the bathroom?Because bamboo is a natural material like hardwood, it is not recommended for bathroom installations and won’t be guaranteed by the manufacturer.

What’s the difference between horizontal bamboo and vertical bamboo?Bamboo is hollow and flooring is made by taking strips of bamboo and adhering them together. Horizontal bamboo is when the strips are laid flat and show you the raw, natural appearance of the knots and grains. Vertical bamboo gives you the side view of the strips, hiding the natural imperfections and offering a cleaner look.

Why is bamboo flooring eco-friendly?Bamboo reaches full maturity in only a few years and can reach heights up to 125 feet. When compared to how long it takes for a tree to reach that height you’ll see bamboo replenishes its supply exponentially faster. Also, the bamboo stock regrows and other growth is propagated by the root system.

Is bamboo harder than hardwood?Bamboo is harder than red oak and very durable. It can be prone to scratches, but the floor finishes offered today substantially increase its surface durability and resistant to scratching.

What is carbonized bamboo flooring?Carbonizing is a process in which the bamboo is steamed rather than stained. This caramelizes the sugars in the bamboo to create a gorgeous hue. Carbonizing is a natural way to add color to bamboo without using stains, though stained bamboo flooring is widely available.

What is strand woven bamboo flooring?Strand woven bamboo is made when the bamboo is shredded into fibers and re-bonded using intense pressure and adhesives. This construction style can produce a floor that is up to 4 times harder than red oak and one that is often used for commercial flooring applications.
